Construction And Principle Of Operation The voltage stabilizer basically consists of a variable transformer with its pertaining dividing motor, of a series transformer and a solid state voltage regulator, all mounted in a common housing. The Voltage regulator has a zener diode reference circuit, whose voltage is clamped; it is a fixed magnitude. The voltage of the load or the voltage of Stabilizer's output is being feed back into the regulator, via a step down transformer plus a rectifier. This feedback signal is then being compared to the mentioned referance signal within an op-amplifier, and the difference in the magnitude generates an error signal. The error signal, properely amplified couses a motion of the variable transformer and its thereby changing voltage shall fed the primary of the series transformer and consequently change its secondary, untill such a magnitude of the (line voltage + secondary series transformer voltage) been reached in wich equilibrium with the referance voltage has been re-established, or, in other words, untill the error signal's magnitude becomes zero. |
